Sharm Gate (“we”, “the app”) is a local marketplace for Sharm El Sheikh where people can browse and post listings for properties, jobs, marketplace items, services and free giveaways. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address and, if you provide it, your phone number, collected when you create an account or post a listing.
• Content you create — listings you post (title, description, price, location, category), photos you upload, and messages you send to other users.
• Sign-in information — if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from that provider to create your account.
• Basic technical data — standard information needed to keep the service secure and working (for example, a device push token if you enable notifications).

How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and let you post and manage listings.
• To show your listings to other users and enable them to contact you.
• To deliver in-app chat and, if you enable it, notifications.
• To review listings for quality and safety, and to prevent abuse.

Information shared with others

When you post a listing, its details and the contact information you choose to include (such as your display name and phone/WhatsApp number) are visible to other users so they can reach you. Your email address is not shown publicly. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or tracking.

Service providers

We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage and notifications) to operate the app. Your data is processed on their infrastructure solely to provide the service.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time directly in the app: Profile → Delete account. Deleting your account removes your profile and your listings from the app. You can also contact us to request deletion.

Children

Sharm Gate is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
